BOTOX
Botox injection contains onobotulinumtoxinA and is used to temporarily prevent muscle from moving. The treatment relaxes the muscles beneath the lines where the product has been injected. Botox can be used to treat conditions such as excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and chronic migraines. Botox injections can also be used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles.
Botox treatments are relatively safe when performed in the correct clinical setting, and by an experienced clinician.
DERMA NEEDLING
Derma Needling, also known as micro-needling is a minimally invasive technique that creates safe and controlled microscopic injuries to the top layer of the skin. This stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin. Furthermore, this technique allows increased absorption of any externally applied products.
At Peggy Chen Skin Cancer and Mohs Surgery, we use the latest and most advanced device – Dermapen 4 ™ which ensures maximal safety and efficacy.
Skin needling services are recommended for treating fine lines, scarring, acne scarring and stretch marks.
SOFWAVE
Sofwave is an energy based device utilising Synchronous Ultraound Parallel Beam Technology, SUPERB TM, which has been FDA -cleared to improve lines and wrinkles of the face and neck, as well as improving facial acne scars.
This proprietary technology, allows the energy to be precisely delivered to the mid-dermis (mid level of the second layer of the skin) heating the tissue at just the right depth and temperature to stimulate collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production leading to a smoother and firmer appearance of the skin, including reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, and lifting of the eyebrows, and the neck.
The advantage of this technology includes no down time after treatment and minimum discomfort during treatment. Furthermore, it is suitable for ALL skin phototypes.

How does Botox work?
Botox works by blocking the nerve signals needed for facial muscles to contract. The treatment relaxes the muscles beneath the lines where Botox has been injected, and the muscles responsible for other aspects of your facial expression stay active.
What areas can be treated with Botox?
Botox can be used to effectively treat the forehead, between the eyebrows, crows feet, and lip lines. It can also be injected into the jaw to treat teeth grinding and TMJ. To prevent excessive sweating, Botox can be injected into the armpits.
Are Botox and Derma Needling painful?
Botox and Derma needling are not considered to be painful or invasive procedures. Most patients will experience brief discomfort during the injection, or needling, which does not persist once the procedure has finished.
How long does it take to see results?
Botox can take anywhere from 3 days to two weeks to see the effects of Botox and will last for 3-5 months.
For derma needling, we use the latest and most advanced device – Dermapen 4, which is the most comfortable micro-needling treatment available.
Who will be performing my Botox injections?
Botox injections are performed by our experienced registered appearance medicine nurse.
What are the possible side effects of Botox?
Possible side effects or complications may include, pain, swelling, and bruising around the injection site. A post-treatment instruction and care plan will be given to you after your treatment at the clinic.
How is Sofwave different from other cosmetic procedures?
Today there are various energy-based technologies designed to treat facial lines and wrinkles, among them: ablative and non-ablative laser technology, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), radiofrequency devices and High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU). Yet, the need for non-invasive aesthetic treatments with proven efficacy, safety and minimal downtime, are still unfulfilled. The more aggressive options can cause damage to the upper skin, which in turn, requires a long healing period and considerable downtime. In addition, there is a higher risk of side effects, including discoloration and discomfort. Even RF micro needling treatments, that have recently become popular, can be uncomfortable, risky and require lengthy downtime. On the other hand, other non-invasive solutions haven’t shown adequate results High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) has also become an accepted mode of treatment for treating wrinkles. This treatment has been associated with multiple drawbacks, among them, limited treatment areas, longer treatment times, excessive pain and additional adverse effects, such as burns and injury to nerves. How long does it take to see results?
Immediate results can be seen as soon as 1 week following the treatment. However, the collagen regeneration process can sometimes take up to 12 weeks, so patients are expected to see ongoing improvements in the 3-month period after their treatment
What does the Sofwave treatment feel like?
As the ultrasound energy is delivered, patients may feel warmness of the skin. Treatment is comfortable simply by applying a topical anesthetic cream just prior to the treatment. Following treatment, there are no sensations and there is no need to apply special care on the skin. Patient may resume their daily care immediately post treatment
